Reset a forgotten password
How to reset your Nertz! password with an emailed link, what to do if the email does not arrive, and how reset links expire.
Reset it from the sign-in screen
- 1Open the sign-in screen and tap "Forgot password".
- 2Type the email address of your account. The address must match exactly what you registered.
- 3Tap the send button. We always show the same message, so you cannot tell from it whether the address exists.
- 4Open the email and follow the link. It opens the reset page with a token in the address.
- 5Type your new password twice and submit. Then sign in with it.
What a good password looks like
- At least eight characters is the practical minimum, and longer is much better.
- Do not reuse a password from another site.
- Never send a password to support. We will never ask for it, by email, ticket or message.
If the email does not arrive
- 1Check spam, junk and promotions, and search for "Nertz".
- 2Wait a couple of minutes, then request a fresh reset email. Only the newest link works.
- 3Make sure you typed the address you actually registered, including any dots or plus signs.
- 4If you signed up with Google, there is no Nertz! password: use the Google button. You can reset the Google password at myaccount.google.com instead.
- 5Still nothing after trying twice? Open a ticket and tell us the email address you used. Do not include a password.
Common problems
Common problems
The link says it has expired.
Reset links are single use and time limited for your safety. Request a new one and use the newest email only.
I typed the new password and it still says the old one is wrong.
Make sure the reset actually completed: the page confirms it before you sign in. If the confirmation did not appear, the reset did not apply.
Someone else may have changed my password.
Reset it again straight away to take back the account, then open a ticket under "Account & sign-in" so we can review the account with you.
