Install Nertz! on your phone or computer

Nertz! installs straight from the browser on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, Mac and Chromebook. No app store and no download required.

Short answer

Nertz! is a web game that can be installed from the browser itself. There is nothing to download from an app store, and installing adds an icon to your home screen or desktop that opens the game full screen.

Install on iPhone or iPad (Safari)

  1. 1Open nertz.app in Safari.
  2. 2Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. 3Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
  4. 4Name it "Nertz!" and tap Add. The icon appears on your home screen.

Install on Android (Chrome)

  1. 1Open nertz.app in Chrome.
  2. 2Tap the three dot menu in the top right.
  3. 3Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app".
  4. 4Confirm with Install. The icon appears with your other apps.

Install on Windows, Mac or Chromebook

  1. 1Open nertz.app in Chrome, Edge or another Chromium browser.
  2. 2Look for the install icon in the address bar (a small screen with an arrow, at the right hand end).
  3. 3Click it and confirm Install. The game opens in its own window from then on.

What installing changes

  • The game opens full screen without browser tabs, which is nicer on a phone.
  • The app icon sits with your other apps.
  • You still need a connection to play, and updates arrive automatically on the next load.
  • Signing in works exactly the same as in the browser.

Common problems

Common problems

I cannot find "Add to Home Screen" on my iPhone.

It only appears in Safari, not in Chrome or in an in-app browser (for example a link opened from inside Messages, Instagram or Facebook). Tap the share menu, choose "Open in Safari", then add it from there.

There is no install icon in my browser.

Try a Chromium browser such as Chrome or Edge on desktop. If the game is already installed, the icon is replaced by the app window and no longer shows.
