What you can ask for
- Access: a description of what we hold about you, and a copy, or the download from Settings.
- Correction: fixing a name, a display name or another detail that is wrong.
- Portability: a copy of your data in a common format so you can take it with you.
- Deletion: removing your account and the records attached to it, including leaderboard entries.
- Restriction or objection: asking us to pause, or to stop a particular use, such as the leaderboard.
- Objecting to game emails, without losing your account or your scores.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of there.
How to make a request
- 1Open the ticket form at nertz.app/help/contact and choose "Privacy & data".
- 2Pick the closest issue: get a copy, delete my data, or cookies and analytics.
- 3Sign in first if you can, because it proves the request comes from the account owner.
- 4Tell us exactly what you want, and whether your leaderboard history should be included.
- 5Keep the reference number we show you. You can add anything else to the same thread later.
You can also email support@nertz.app from the address on the account. The Privacy Policy lists the operator contact for formal requests.
What happens next
- We read every request, and answer in the same ticket so the whole exchange stays in one place.
- We act on privacy requests within 30 days, as the Privacy Policy says. If we need to check something with you first, we say so.
- Deletion is permanent: ask for a copy in the same request if you want your scores before they go.
- We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights, and if we cannot do what you asked we tell you why and you can ask us to reconsider.
Doing it yourself
- Take your data: "Download my data" in Settings downloads one file with your account, scores, round history, tickets and stored helper chats.
- Game emails: the "Game emails" switch in Settings, or the unsubscribe link at the foot of any game email, which works without signing in. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland those emails are opt-in, so they only arrive while the switch is on. Account emails such as password resets still go out when you ask for them.
- Delete the account: "Delete my account and data" in Settings removes the account and everything attached to it, immediately.
- Cookies and analytics: use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the home screen, or in Settings, to accept or reject analytics. Rejecting turns off both analytics services and deletes the visit id kept in your browser. Nothing non-essential runs before you choose.
- Saved preferences: your display name, level, player count and target score live in your own browser, so clearing site data for nertz.app removes them.
A note about children
Accounts are for people 13 and older, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Younger players are welcome to join a family member's table as a guest on that adult's device. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
In the EU, the UK and Switzerland a player under 16 needs a parent or guardian's approval before the optional, consent-based features can be used: analytics, game emails and the AI helpers. Until that approval arrives those stay off for that player; playing, scores, the leaderboard and support all work as normal. A parent or guardian can write to support@nertz.app.
