About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used by Nertz! (https://nertz.app), operated by Sthetic Creative Group, LLC. It adds detail to our Privacy Policy (https://nertz.app/privacy). Questions: hello@sthetic.org.

Essential storage (always on)

These are needed for the game to work and do not require consent:

• Sign-in session — a token kept by the Base44 platform in your browser so you stay signed in. Removed when you sign out.
• Your cookie choice — "sthetic_analytics_consent" in local storage records whether you accepted or rejected analytics, when, and whether a Global Privacy Control signal was present. It is kept for 12 months, after which we ask again.
• Age check — "nertz_age_check" in local storage records the band that came out of the birth-year answer (16 or older, under 16, under 13), never the year itself, so analytics never runs for a younger player. Stays on your device; a signed-in player's band is also kept on their account.
• Game preferences — your display name, difficulty level, number of computer players and sound setting ("nertz_solo_prefs" in local storage). Stays on your device.
• Live rooms — a temporary connection ID in session storage so a refresh keeps your seat. Cleared when you close the tab.

Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

• "_ga" — Google Analytics (Google LLC) — distinguishes visitors — up to 2 years — set only after you click "Accept analytics".
• "_ga_QX0WY4R572" — Google Analytics (Google LLC) — keeps session state — up to 2 years — set only after you click "Accept analytics".
• "base44_analytics_session_id" — local storage — Base44 (our app platform, Wix.com Ltd.) — Analytics (consent only) — a random visit ID — kept until you clear it or you reject analytics.
• What the Base44 analytics records: when the visit started and the page you came from, the page path you are on, a "still here" signal once a minute, session length, and your account ID when you are signed in. It starts from your next page load after you accept, and it stops when you reject analytics or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. It is not anonymous: a signed-in visit is linked to your account. Neither service ever receives your name, email address, display name or room codes.

Until you accept, neither the Google Analytics script nor the Base44 platform analytics runs, and no analytics storage is written. Advertising storage and ad personalization are always off. We do not use advertising or social-media cookies.

Third-party content

• Google Fonts (Google LLC) — the game's typefaces are loaded from Google's font servers, so your browser sends your IP address and basic browser information to Google when a page loads. Google Fonts does not set cookies. Details: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy

Changing your choice

• Use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the home screen or any legal page to accept or reject analytics at any time. Rejecting turns Google Analytics off, deletes its cookies on nertz.app, stops the Base44 platform analytics and removes its stored visit ID ("base44_analytics_session_id").
• Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, we treat it as a rejection and neither analytics service runs unless you later opt in yourself.
• You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The game works the same either way.

Changes

If we change the cookies we use, we will update this page and its date and, where needed, ask for your choice again.
